About Me
Before training as a clinical psychotherapist, I spent over 30 years as a Creative Director/Chief Creative Officer at several global advertising corporations, ultimately co-founding my own agency. I am well aware of the unique stresses presented by both the corporate and entrepreneurial worlds.
As a psychotherapist, I have worked with my clients privately, in residential treatment centers and school settings in New York City and Westchester. Outside of my clinical work I’ve served my community as a member of the board of education, a youth baseball coach and mentor. I currently sit on the board of the JCK Foundation which promotes mental health resilience in schools, businesses and communities.
I believe that you are never too young or too old to gain the insights necessary to promote well-being. My role is to help you illuminate them.
My Approach
I combine real-life experiences with my learnings in psychodynamic and cognitive therapies to assist clients in navigating life-stage struggles that don’t always come with a map. I strongly believe that the alliance between client and therapist is the greatest predictor of a successful outcome and emphasize a warm collaborative environment.
I work with older adolescents, adults and families on issues including anxiety, depression, emotional regulation and intergenerational conflict. I am also clinically trained in short term family stabilization interventions along with evidence-based Parent Management Therapy and Parenting with Love and Limits.
I have seen the power of second order change and how reworking the communication paradigm in the home can ultimately lead to a change in behavior.
Self-Care
Continually accepting that the lessons of a lifetime can only be gained through living a lifetime.
