I work with teens and adults navigating depression, stress, identity, grief, relationship challenges, and the effects of trauma, with a particular focus on LGBTQ+ and transgender and nonbinary clients, BIPOC clients, young adults, and men. My approach is warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative, drawing on CBT, person-centered, narrative, and family systems work, and motivational interviewing.

About me

Hello! I'm Pat Boggi (he/him). Clients describe me as genuine, nonjudgmental, passionate, and understanding. I believe the heart of counseling is the therapeutic relationship, and I work to create an environment where you feel heard and supported. Working as your ally, we collaborate toward healing and personal growth.

I'm committed to working with people of all identities, backgrounds, and cultures. I value the differences and individuality of the people I work with, and I believe everyone deserves a safe place to express their needs and struggles without fear of judgment. I also recognize that systemic racism, oppression, trauma, and societal expectations affect many people, and that healing from these injustices requires space to be held for it.

I have 7 years of experience working with young adults, adults, and older adults. I've worked in supportive housing with individuals living with mental illness and substance use, and in home care with older adults. In my final year of graduate school, I worked in a college counseling center, supporting young adults through personal growth and academic success.

My approach

Every person comes in with their own strengths and struggles, so I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I use an eclectic mix of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems, Humanistic and Person-Centered (Rogerian) therapy, Narrative therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Feminist therapy, and I tailor my interventions to what fits you best.

Strength and resilience live in everyone. I'm dedicated to working with you to reach your goals, explore who you are, and find happiness and inner peace. I appreciate you taking the time to read this, and I look forward to supporting you on this journey we call life.
